The Partners in Preparedness Program was initiated by Sheriff's Office in 2006 in an effort to bring Law Enforcement and the general public together in a dynamic partnership, to enhance the security and quality of life of those we serve. Recognizing that Law Enforcement must work with the citizens, not just for them, the program is designed to reinforce that relationship by bringing training and education to the people. The program encompasses classes ranging from Patrol Response to Active Shooter, to the 911 Cares program. Follow the links for more information about each of the offered classes.

PATROL RESPONSE TO ACTIVE SHOOTER

The Patrol Response to Active Shooter class is taught by members of the North Central Washington Special Response Team. The training is designed for law enforcement only as teaches patrol officers how to work effectively and decisively in Active Shooter incidents. The training is interactive and utilizes less than lethal firearms in reality based scenarios, to teach proper tactics and hone officers' skills.

CRISIS RESPONSE TO SCHOOL VIOLENCE

The Crisis Response to School Violence class is taught by members of the North Central Washington Special Response Team. The training is designed for school staff members and teaches what and Active Shooter is, why we should be concerned, how to deal with an incident, and signs to look for. The class is geared specifically towards the public school arena.

The training is designed for the general public and teaches what and Active Shooter is, why we should be concerned, how to deal with an incident, signs to look for, and the roles the employer and employees have in preventing these incidents. The class is geared specifically towards the business environment.

CITIZEN FIREARMS ACADEMIES

The Citizen Firearms Academies are taught by Sheriff's Office Firearms Instructors. The classes are designed for the general public and instruction ranges from beginners, to advanced. The classes teach basic firearms safety, proper shooting techniques, basic firearms maintenance, and legal issues regarding their carry and use.

The classes are interactive, with a majority of the time spent on the range shooting.
