JUVENILE BURGLAR CAUGHT IN BUILDING

On 05-20-09 at 3:30 AM Okanogan County Deputy Tony Hawley responded to a suspicious circumstance call at the Forest Friends Day Care Center on 7th Avenue in Okanogan. When he arrived at the scene he discovered an open door and a damaged window. Upon searching the building Deputy Hawley located a suspect inside the building, hiding in a closet.

The fifteen year old male subject, with a Chelan and Okanogan address was taken into custody at the scene. Sgt. Gene Davis and Deputy Dennis Irwin arrived on scene and during the investigation they also discovered that the suspect had also broken into another residence located on 7th Ave. and had also broken into a vehicle in the area. Stolen items from each of the burglaries were located at the scene and recovered.

The fifteen year old suspect is well known to locale law enforcement. The juvenile was transported to the Okanogan County Juvenile Center and booked on Burglary in the 2nd Degree, Residential Burglary, Malicious Mischief 2nd Degree (2 Counts), Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Theft in the 2nd Degree, Vehicle Prowl in the 2nd Degree (4 Counts) and Making or Having Burglar Tools.
